What exactly are we measuring?
Protective masks (PPE)
Samples: Particle filtering face pieces (FFP1, FFP2 or FFP3)
Testing in accordance with the harmonized standard EN 149:
- Visual inspection
- Practical performance test
- Total inward leakage test
- Flammability test
- Carbon dioxide content of inhalation air test
- Strength of attachment of exhalation valve housing test
- Breathing resistance test
- Clogging test
- Penetration of filter material test
Medical face and general-use mask (MDR)
Samples: Medical face masks (type I, II or IIR)
Testing in accordance with EN 14683
- Bacterial filtration efficiency test โ BFE
- Breathability test (differential pressure)
- Biocompatibility test (cytotoxicity)
- Microbial cleanliness test (bioburden)
- Splash resistance test
