Gloves instead of a disinfectant?
Protective gloves are a mechanical barrier to the transmission of dirt and germs and are therefore intended for single use only.

We need to choose gloves that offer adequate protection and are the right size for us, so that they don’t become too permeable, puncture, tire our hands or distract us from our work. Always wear them on clean, disinfected and dry hands.
They should not be worn all the time, as they cannot and should not replace hand washing. Wearing gloves all the time can cause, among other things, hand infections and the cross-spread of diseases.
Gloves are only effective if used correctly. Improper use gives us a false sense of security and does not prevent infections.
Correct use of protective gloves:
- Put gloves on dry, washed and disinfected hands.
- Gloves must be of an appropriate size so that they do not become too permeable or punctured too quickly.
- Fingernails must be properly trimmed to reduce the chances of puncturing the gloves.
- Remove jewellery, as it increases the chance of puncturing the gloves and of infections related to moisture stagnation under the jewellery.
- Do not carry gloves in your pockets.
- Do not wash or disinfect the gloves, as this speeds up permeability.
- Use one glove for one job only – disposable gloves.
- Change gloves as soon as you notice a moisture build-up in the glove.
- Replace gloves in the case of a puncture, cut or tear.
- Keep contaminated gloves away from your face and other surfaces and objects such as mobile phones, doorknobs, etc.
