Opening of New Development Facilities in Velenje

In collaboration with our partner Gorenje Household Appliances – part of the Hisense Europe Group – we have officially opened new development facilities in Velenje. This milestone strengthens our presence in eastern Slovenia and further enhances our long-standing partnership with the Hisense Europe Group.

LOTRIČ Metrology and Gorenje Household Appliances have been working together in metrology since 2012. Last year, we deepened our partnership by signing an agreement to take over the servicing, maintenance, and production of new devices for the Hisense Europe Group at three production sites – in Velenje, the Czech Republic (Mora), and Serbia (Valjevo).

As part of this expanded cooperation, the laboratory for electrical quantities was relocated to Velenje, ensuring seamless operation and calibration of measuring devices used in the local production.

“Being responsible for the entire range of measurement instruments and systems of one of Slovenia’s largest exporters is a tremendous recognition and responsibility for us. We are proud to have taken on such an important role in the production processes of the Hisense Europe Group as an external partner, which proves the trust we’ve built over the years,” emphasized Maja Brelih Lotrič, CEO of LOTRIČ Metrology, at the opening ceremony.

Together, we are raising the quality standards of our appliances, which ultimately leads to increased customer satisfaction,” said Tomaž Korošec, Executive Vice President of Hisense Europe, on the occasion.

With the opening of additional facilities in Velenje, alongside our existing locations in Selca, Železniki, and Ljubljana, we are strengthening our presence in the “Savinjsko–šaleška” region. The new location allows our team to be closer to partners in this part of Slovenia. Currently, a team of eight highly skilled experts operates in the Velenje laboratory, with plans to expand the team further in the future.

Our team works directly in the production environment to ensure smooth processes, with control systems playing a key role in accurately and reliably verifying the essential parameters of each product,” highlighted Miha Globačnik, Product Developer at LOTRIČ Metrology.

Boris Kejžar, Head of the Velenje Business Unit, added: “With our expertise, motivation, and dedication to quality, we support the client’s production process daily. Our direct presence enables quick response and real-time problem solving, contributing to greater stability, traceability, and efficiency of the entire production.”

In addition to metrology services, we have been offering business partners process automation for quality control for many years. Under the TRAMES brand, we develop our systems, machines, and devices for measurement and quality control that can be directly integrated into production lines. Using machine vision and advanced algorithms, these solutions enable 100 % quality inspection of products in real time.

As a development partner, LOTRIČ Metrology contributes to the implementation of high-tech solutions in the home appliance industry. Over the past year, we have installed more than ten dedicated control stations in the Gorenje Household Appliances factory in Velenje, which automatically check safety and functional features of appliances on the production lines. At least seven additional systems or devices are planned for installation this year, ensuring that every single appliance is thoroughly checked.
